So, could we have a little more information on how the client works?

Well, frankly I'm not too far into the specifics, but simply it works by forcing the game to communicate with a more efficient pattern than the game's default connection. It used to just blast information out hoping that another computer will pick it up, this client will "hopefully" change the pattern into a more direct and useful form. And that is basically all i know about the client...

I plan to do much more than that, like the Populous 3 client which I helped design and program, in time it could have a rating system, anti-cheat protection, mappack management, clan management, etc..

It'd be really cool to have clan support, if there still happen to be people enought around to make it functional. I'll have to either find some backup from my old creature or train a new one if this client takes off and there is plenty of online matchs to be had. Really excited :D

Hello I use to play black and White a long time ago when the game first came out. Im just now getting back into it. It only took me like 6 years lol. When I seen that black and white was'nt able to be played online anymore it broke my heart then I started to do some resourch and seen your website and I just wanted to say i think its awesome what your doing and I hope to play online soon.

Yes, i am anxious about this client. Me and a few others have just got back into Black & White and would much appreciate an easier and more efficient way to connect.
1. Will this client allow Vista users to host games where Hamachi does not? This is a big problem concerning Vista's B&W users. In our group of 4, only one owns XP and so we need to keep relying on him in order to play. This is a big inconvinience. I hope that this client will fix this.
2. Is it possible for a BETA version to be released? I played a really early BETA, but that failed to work correctly. Also, would an estimated release date for the actual thing be possible? Not to rush you, but alot of people wish to play the good ol' Black & White as it was back in the day.

There will be not a beta until I can successfully replicate the game advertisement broadcast packet without the game crashing for some reason.. As for vista compatibility I have no idea as I don't support vista and refuse to install it to do tests.. Technically it SHOULD work, but it's vista after all..

I've requested some additional help from Derobrash on getting my UDP packet generator working correctly.. Hopefully he will be able to provide the needed missing information to get over this roadblock..

Good news then!
I assume that when this "roadblock" has been overcome, then a BETA will be ready; I am supposed to be a tester after all :p
Having a convinient service for playing it again will be so great.
